Thomas DelissenSenior Frontend EngineerCrafting web interfaces in the agentic era.

Senior frontend engineer, designing and building interfaces since 2010. I turn complex systems such as live transit data, market feeds and LLM pipelines into calm, fast and accessible products.

Selected work

Products, designed and built end to end.

From data pipelines and AI summaries down to the pixels of an e-ink screen. Paper-like displays leave no room for noise, so every detail has to earn its place.

EkiBoard

The departure board for your station.

  • TypeScript
  • Next.js
  • React
  • Node.js
  • Terminus
  • E Ink

A connected e-ink device that shows your next trains in the native Japanese station-board format. I designed and built the whole product: web apps, a Node.js backend with real-time data pipelines, device software and the 3D-printed enclosure.

Highlights

  • 16,000+ lines and routes across Japan and France, merged from dozens of transit APIs into one normalised pipeline.
  • Walking-time aware: it only shows the trains you can still catch, with live delays.
  • Fleet back office for pairing, firmware, battery health and remote screen management.
  • Available in English, Japanese and French, with up to six months of battery life.

IntelSlate

Market intelligence, designed for e-ink.

  • Next.js
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Prisma
  • PostgreSQL
  • Claude API
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Vitest

A stock portfolio dashboard with AI-generated news briefings, optimised for TRMNL e-ink terminals. It tracks market data every hour, flags significant moves, gathers the related news and has an LLM summarise it every morning.

Highlights

  • Fully server-rendered and cached, so the device can wake, screenshot and sleep in under a second.
  • Scheduled pipeline: prices every hour, then news and AI summaries before the morning commute.
  • Two complete themes, including a retro-ink theme tuned for e-ink hardware.
  • Typed end to end with Zod schemas, internationalised and tested with Vitest.
Role
Product design, full-stack engineering & AI integration
